Spindle Servo Failure

Anybody know what this means:

 

Failed to Write Sectors 1633248 - 1633279 - Reason: Spindle Servo Failure

 

Is this a failure of the hardware of my DVD drive (which is HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B E113) or is it a driver problem?
