advda Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Hello I have a folder of dts files with dts extension which I would like to burn to CDR for 5.1 reproduction with DVD player. That's how I normally burn 5.1 wav files with other audio CD burning applications. But Nero failed to load files and crashed. Google suggested ImagBurn, but ImgBurn can't find suitable filter... Any suggestions how to burn these to CD as 5.1 wav files? Thanks! PS. These dts files play normally with VLC player, so I guess aren't corrupted. PSS. ImgBurn forum search is limited to 4 characters string minimum, therefore I couldn't search for dts threads.
kryten Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) I would be careful pointing to "codec" sites. A lot of sites consider these "warez". Lots of gray area since some of those codecs are reverse-engineered (copyright infringement). Proceed with caution. You're asking for a virus most of the time. Edited March 3, 2010 by kryten
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 If you're going to link somewhere, it should be to the official site anyway. Give credit to the author and all that! http://ac3filter.net/projects/ac3filter/releases Personally, I don't know how burning 5.1 wav files to discs actually works. CD-DA is meant to be 44.1kHz, 16 bit, stereo.
advda Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) Thanks for your thoughts. I checked today once again, if it might succeed. But after installing ac3 filter anything didn't changed. dts files still are unknown format to ImgBurn and othe burning software I use. While burning dts encoded wav files with normal audio CD settings isn't a problem. (which sound in stereo is just an high frequency hiss) I tried to change extension dts to wav but no help! Nero crashes and ImgBurn complains about missing filter Similar dts files with instructions but I don't have Nero Rus (Russian?) and Nero audio pack: http://softportal.softarchive.net/the_chinese_folk_music_flute_di__xiao_xdts_cd.136742.html Edited March 4, 2010 by advda
