apex84 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 (edited) As the title says, if I set the buffer to 128 MB (I haven't tried any other value above the default 40 MB), the burning process fails with the message "Retry Failed - Reason: Invalid Address For Write" in the log. This always happens at 63% and yes I've tried Verbatim DVD+R DL. That's the only media I use. I've also tried flashing the drive with the latest firmware. Both buffers are still full when I get this message. I want to set the buffer to at least 128 MB so it doesn't drop (which has happened a few times) when I use the computer. Cynthia Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I doubt that the buffer is in charge for your write issue. Can you post a log?
apex84 Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 Hmm.. the logs seem to be deleted. If I set the buffer back to 40 MB the problem disappears.
Cynthia Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 No logs at all if you look in Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
apex84 Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 No logs at all if you look in Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs Nope, they were deleted with CCleaner. Btw, the error isn't isolated to a single ISO file. It happens with every burn if I set the buffer to 128 MB. But I will save the next log file.
Cynthia Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 How much RAM do you have in that computer as It's possible to set it above 128 MB.
apex84 Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 (edited) 2 GB installed. About 1.2 GB in total were in use when the error occurred. 128 MB is just an arbitrary limit I set for myself. Edited March 7, 2010 by apex84
