jdefed Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 hi, i've been using imgburn ver 1 for years without any problems(to my knowledge). i recently upgraded to wer 2.5 and thats when i started having problems. i never used to verify my burns other than to put them in a dvd player and play them, so i dont know if i've really had problems all those years. i know i have an older burner(benq dw1620 with latest firmware) and some verbatim disc that are of low quality (from reading here), but what is the harm if the disc goes through the burn process and says burn successful and plays ok in a player but will not pass the verification process? thanks jim

mmalves Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Try burning at 8x or 12x, after all that's 16x rated media. If it doesn't work then you could try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks, and maybe also try a lens cleaning disc on that burner.
jdefed Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Try burning at 8x or 12x, after all that's 16x rated media. If it doesn't work then you could try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks, and maybe also try a lens cleaning disc on that burner. i did try at 4x yesterday (with some disc that came with the burner, dazon i think) and it would not burn, failed almost immediately. so what happens when a burner starts failing, wont get to rpm, laser looses power? ill try the cleaner, but probably will get a new burner. thanks jim
Cynthia Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Cleaning is one try. Another one is to test with a quality media such as Verbatim.
