Power Calibration Area Full !?!?!?!?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to this so try to bear with me. I've been using the same memorex DL DVD's (yeah I know) for about a good month or so,I DL about 75 to 90 games using the same brand of DVD's I tried burning again yesterday & it gave me (!) "Power Calibration Area Full" message. I looked on this forum & found out that I probably needed to update my drive (Phillips DVD+-RW DVD 8801) so I did but its still giving me the same problem. Any help is highly appreciated, thanks again.

Tried another write speed?

A log could give some more clues.

You could try a lens cleaning disc on that burner, but I'd try with Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL blanks first.

Thats probably what it is then, the brand of DVD's that I'm using, correct?

Whats Crazy is that I just picked up some Verbatim's 2.4x DVD+R DL's & now I got this:

WTF!?!? Can Anyone help? Is it my drive?

Posted

It's certainly looking like your drive is the issue.

Have you tried cleaning it with a cleaning disc as suggested earlier?

Posted

As a matter of fact, I did. Damn this sucks. Regardless, I appreciate the tips & info. Thanks again everyone.
