TGFW Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 (edited) I spent a few minutes googling this and had no luck. Wanted to throw this out there for some opinions: Short version: Burner: Brand New Pioneer DVR-S18MBK with latest Firmware. Media: Verbatim DVD+R DL (MKM-003-00) (Unfortunately not the 2X) I've been able to successfully burn 2 of my backups so far. It always has this error when starting, but continues anyway. mmalves Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Look for updated drivers for your SATA controller. You should also try burning at 6x or 8x as you may get a better burn quality on those speeds. //edit actually, please read Cynthia's post below because she has that burner and knows more about it than I do
TGFW Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 Look for updated drivers for your SATA controller. You should also try burning at 6x or 8x as you may get a better burn quality on those speeds. Thanks. I'll try both of those and report back.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Verify your burns too, especially if these errors continue.
Cynthia Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 The only speed I got to work with that media/burner was 4x. The higher ones just gave verify errors.
TGFW Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 (edited) The only speed I got to work with that media/burner was 4x. The higher ones just gave verify errors. I updated my SATA drivers and tried a couple of burns at MAX (avg 5.6X, Max 10X). Verified and played in the 360 no problem. I'm not going to push my luck with MAX, I'll lock it down to 4X, but I just wanted to report back that I think all is well. Thanks! Edited March 13, 2010 by TGFW
