The problem seems to be that the media you're using is too new for your burner (notice that the firmware update is almost 5 years old). Use SIW to check if your laptop has USB 2.0 support, and if it does, you could get an external non-slim burner for it. Sorry I'm a noob lolz and if i buy an external harddrive will it definitely work??
