Kirrin Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) I followed the setup guide to the letter but when I go to burn the disc, it gets to 6% and just stops writing. LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Probably nothing... but your drive might have done Copy + paste everything from the log window please (assuming it's still attempting to burn).

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Do you have any other discs you could test with? Something NOT using the RITEKF1 dye. Even a DVD+RW or DVD-RW would do. Have you tried the various supported write speeds? Maybe cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc would help? EDIT: Ah ok, so you got a Write error that time. That's better than it just stopping dead and saying nothing RITEKF1 isn't a great MID/dye and laptop drives are fussy at the best of times. You might end up having to buy some decent media to test with (Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden). The other option is to buy a decent full size external burner.
Kirrin Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Hum ok, I'll look into finding a new disc. The only thing I'm confused about now is you said laptop drives can be fussy, I'm using a desktop not a laptop O.o
mmalves Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Even though you're using a desktop, the burner you have is a slim model, slot load type and slim burners in general are rubbish. If you use high quality media with them then it should work fine.
Kirrin Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Oh ok I get it. Damn that sucks haha, I'll try to get some better media then! Thanks a lot for your help guys.
