mavdrivr Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I am totally clueless on what to try next. I am trying to burn a DVD and have downloaded a few different programs, thinking it's one of them, but I get the same message with each one of them. It says it sees my CD-Rom, but doesn't show my DVD-Rom. It says Source..Select a file... Label: Unknown Sectors: Unknown Size: Unknown Time: Unknown Destination: my cd writer Then on the bottom it says under the Hard Drive to Disc picture: Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present) Does anyone have an idea on this? So far I have downloaded DVD Decrypter, DVD Fab Decrypter, DVD Shrink, DVD 2one V2, VobBlanker, and now ImgBurn..and have about lost my mind.. someone please help me. Thanks.
Kenadjian Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 We need some more info, like your destination: what type of drive have you got? What are you trying to burn? Have ever burnt anything with this drive before? Etc. Etc.

Have ever burnt anything with this drive before? Etc. Etc. Oh sorry...I wasn't thinking about that. I have a new Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-115. It was bought brand new off of Ebay and this is the first project I have been trying to tackle (learn). I have a movie on my hard drive that I am trying to put on disc. I thought I had it tackled earlier using the DVD2 one..and I even watched for the 30 minutes as it showed the progress of the recording. I was very impressed with myself for learning something new, and then when it said it completed perfectly, I removed the disc, and put it back in to give it a try...to find the drive not seeing it. The message kept coming up saying Insert disc when it already was in there. So I am not even sure it did anything.
Kenadjian Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I'm still not clear, is this a ROM drive only? As it can only READ discs, not burn them? When you say you "put it back in", are you talking about a blank disc? It just sounds like that you do not have burner, just a reader.

I think that is the problem and now I feel real stupid. I was just told by my son that it is only a Rom drive. By putting it back in, yes I meant that the "recorded" version that I watched "Burn" for 30 minutes...and then it said it was done "burning"..I took that disc out and closed the program and then put the same "burned" disc back in to play what I had just made. And it didn't see the disc as being in it. But if it didn't record anything, then why didn't it see the disc? I can't win. I bought this drive to be able to make things (like making copies of family pictures and things for each member) and burning my info if I had to reformat again. Guess it was a waste of time and money and now I feel dumb to have written a post. Thanks anyway.. #39;(
Kenadjian Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Don't feel bad about it, we all have to start somewhere. And as far not seeing the disc, there was nothing to see.
