mmalves Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Update ImgBurn. Try burning at 4x. Try a lens cleaning disc on your burner, or even cleaning manually if you know how to do it. Try with the 2.4x Verbatim blanks if you can find them.

Try with the 2.4x Verbatim blanks if you can find them. I did update to the latest version. The problem disapeared but another came up. Sitting at work so I cant post the log but it was something with: "failed to write sectors XXXX-XXXXX jaddajaddajadada" I cant burn at 4x because my burner not support this speed. Probably it is the discs but I cant find verbatim 2,4x. :S Some recommendation for buying an external burner? brand, speed etc. Edited March 29, 2010 by kalle_hager

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Did you try 4x then? How about cleaning the drive?
kalle_hager Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) Did you try 4x then? How about cleaning the drive? Do you mean disc o writing speed? I have not tried anything since I posted my second reply here. It's making me f*****g angry so I am very keen to buy a new external burner. yiiihaaaa! love new electronical things! any suggestions on one? Edited March 30, 2010 by kalle_hager
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Yes, you said your drive didn't support 4x write speed on those discs but it does... so you should at least try it. A cleaning disc is useful, be it for your current drive or one you end up buying in the future - again, it doesn't hurt to try it. The 7240 Optiarcs are popular at the moment but I don't know if you can get external models of them. The drive forums over at cdfreaks (or myce.com as it's now known) are probably the best place to get advice with that sort of thing.

Wish me luck! Thanks for the help! I am not very good at this, probably just pure luck that I managed to do it before! Edit: Havent thought about this before but right now I'm sitting at work and my computer here has a DL-burner. The disc is in the burner. Hold your thumbs! Edited March 31, 2010 by kalle_hager

I LOVE YOU! =) Changed the write speed to 4x and it worked! I have learned from the time I burned Nintendo wii games to burn them as slow as possible! but not with xbox360!! THANK YOU! you have made me happy again!!!!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 You should burn at whatever speed your drive produces the best burns at - and that's specific to each MID/dye of disc. Nothing is set in stone to say it's always going to be the slowest speed it supports.

Nothing is set in stone to say it's always going to be the slowest speed it supports. Hahaha, I managed to burn one disc but when I tried to burn another game I got problem. It was something about: Potential 'WaitImmediateIO' Deferred Error - (22%, 0/3) - ID CRC or ECC Error.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Have you tried cleaning the drive yet? You've already tried both write speeds so that the last thing to try before giving up with the drive. Verbatim make the best DL discs so if it can't even burn those, it's pretty pointless using/keeping it. You might have more luck with the 2.4x speed Verbatim discs (MKM-001-00 dye) but they're getting harder and harder to find these days.
