How firm are these limits to making an Audio CD? 700MB and 80 min

I just made an audio CD with a CD/R. The length ran 83 min and the size ran 875 MB!

I thought IMGBURN would cough or that the CD would skip a song or two. I listened to the whole CD and no deficiency was heard by my ears, anyway.

Did I lower the quality of the CD? The CD had 4 MP3 files and 13 WAV files.

That's called overburning, and the success depends on your burner/media combination. The quality shouldn't be affected, but keep in mind that not all reader devices may be able to read past 80min of audio.
