TimTim007 Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Hello, I have read atleast 5 other posts with similar errors and have yet to find a reasonable solution, so i am posting my own topic with this error and hoping someone can lend a hand. Normally this is not a constant error i recieve, it is usually hit and miss with the discs which would lead me to believe they are bad discs, but lately i have been wasting an average of 6 discs a burn, so this is getting pricey and it's time i got some help with this. mmalves Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Try a lens cleaning disc on that burner, or even manually cleaning the burner's lens if you know how to do it. If that doesn't help then you should get an external, non-slim burner.
TimTim007 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 I did manually clean it already, and it was no help at all. I knew someone would post to use an external, but this one worked previously and was just curious if anyone knew any possible software problems that may be to blame now? But thank you for the quick response.
mmalves Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 The burn process relies on the burner/firmware/media combination; the software just feeds the data in the correct order. You're already using the best dual-layer media of the market, so all you can try is another burner.
TimTim007 Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 Will do; I guess I will just burn on my Desktop from now on, since replacing this drive would be a nearly impossible feat and i don't feel like carrying an external around. Thanks for your help.
