DVD+R DL Looong finalising time

Hello,

first of all - thanks for imgburn, great software.

Today I've burned some dvds, along with DVD+R DL. I've noticed that finalizing takes a lots of time in several cases - time of finalization varies from 2 minutes to about 6.

Could you help me with this one?

Have you tried burning at 8x or 6x? And with verify disabled you'll never know if the disc was a good burn or not.

 

Also, ImgBurn sends the finalise disc command and waits for an answer from the burner, so we can only speculate that it could be sub-par quality Verbatim blanks or maybe the burner's lens are dirty.

I did at 6x and 8x, results are the same. And I know my burns are ok, because I use other program (cdcheck) to verify burns on dvd-rom drive, while burning another disc on dvd-writer.

Absolutely no problem when burning normal DVD+R media. It happens only when I burn DL discs.

I will try to analyze last 10-20 burns in the log, as I think there were some discs which finalized in normal time - can it depend on the type of the burn (ie building disc with several files vs burning ISO image?)

Nope, as the drive doesn't care about the type of data being burned.
