Does this mean the disc was burned fine but the media cannot be read? will it still work 100%?

I have tried to burn this about 6 times - 3 DVD-R and 3 DVD+R

All help will be greatful!

You could try verifying those discs using another drive/computer to know if they're good burns or not.

Anyway...

I 00:19:53 Destination Device: [1:0:0] HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GT10N A107 (D:) (SATA)

I 00:19:53 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: MCC-004-00) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 8x)

I 00:19:53 Write Speed: 2x

Update your burner's firmware and try burning again using the faster write speeds, as that's 16x rated media after all.

By the way, what's the brand of those blanks?

Thanks for the fast reply!

im using Verbatim,

if i burn at a faster speed will the wii read the disc? i have been told it will only read up to x3?

ill update my firmware tomorrow when i get chance!

The console only cares about burn quality/readability of the disc, and burning 16x media at 2x doesn't usually result in a good quality burn.

so i have updated my firmware, but still get the same error...

I would also try 4x. If you still get errors, try with a cleaning disc and if that also fails, replace the drive.
