ZoNi Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 For a last month or two I have annoying problem: ImgBurn can not burn! Actually, it starts (seems normal), than seems like it burn DVD for more than one hour (or so), but DVD is not burned OK. Here is log file: http://paste2.org/p/782282 (or in attachment) Here are screenshots from DVDinfoPro: Btw, situation is same with Ashampoo Burning Studio Free >>> http://i39.tinypic.com/15i2d08.png (first part is just simulation, burning starts from middle). Only program that can burn (and do that great, just like ImgBurn until this last month or so) is small freeware UsefulUtils Discs Studio. Maybe this is reason why UDS works ok? Please, any idea? My software and hardware can be seen here: http://www.zoniweb.com/mypc/index.html ImgBurn.log
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Enabled 'Test Mode' and burn a DVD-R in Discovery mode. Then post a new log. If your burns are taking 70 mins (when it's supposed to be burning at 8x), something is obviously wrong!
ZoNi Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 (edited) Enabled 'Test Mode' and burn a DVD-R in Discovery mode. Then post a new log. Done. 1. Log: http://paste2.org/p/784186 (also attached) 2. DVDinfo: But, it seems that burning now was OK and normal length (!) *** For me, it seems that ImgBurn normal create image file, but burning on DVD is not working as it should. I thought there are some hardware problems, but UsefulUtils Discs Studio works perfect. ImgBurn-02.log Edited April 20, 2010 by ZoNi
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Your problems are releted to your hdd. It can't supply data quickly enough to maintain a steady stream. Beyond trying the usual DMA fix in the FAQ (and updating all chipset / controller drivers), you could try enabling buffered I/O on the I/O tab in the settings.
ZoNi Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Tnx for info! I will try to do suggested things. Btw, how UsefulUtils Discs Studio burns normal? Here is his log: http://paste2.org/p/784294
mmalves Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 ImgBurn shows you the real average/maximum speeds, not the speed it should've been. If you compare ImgBurn's log in post #3 and the one you posted from disc studio you'll see that the latter actually took more time to burn.
ZoNi Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 If you compare ImgBurn's log in post #3 and the one you posted from disc studio you'll see that the latter actually took more time to burn. Nope. "Studio" burned disk ok, ImgBurn not.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 It's your burner that's messing up here (due to the slow hdd transfer) stuff. Even with forced slowdowns (buffer underruns - on purpose!), a drive should still produce a working burn, yours isn't. Hopefully enabling that Buffered I/O option will get things working at normal speeds again and then your drive won't be using it's dodgy burnproof technology all the time (or even at all!) - then your disc should work fine.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I assume the buffers are actually empty the entire time? That's an obvious indication of a problem but you didn't actually mention it in your first post. I don't know why else you'd be getting such rubbish speeds. Try the DMA fix from the FAQ too (uninstall the controllers in Device Manager and reboot).
ZoNi Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 I have tried everything - nothing works Well, Discs Studio will be good for now. When reinstall Win, will try ImgBurn again.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Let me repeat... I assume the buffers are actually empty the entire time? That's an obvious indication of a problem but you didn't actually mention it in your first post. I need to know the answer to these questions so I can attempt to help you. Also, what's in your filter drivers list? (Copy + paste from the feature in the 'Tools' menu)
ZoNi Posted June 14, 2010 Author Posted June 14, 2010 I have now tried with Nero's ASPI Buffer is NOT empty - usually it is filled about 80-90% Filters: =============================================== Filter Driver Load Order - ImgBurn v2.5.1.0 =============================================== Upper Device Filter: redbook Upper Class Filter: [None Found] Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: [None Found] Lower Device Filter: imapi Filter Name: redbook File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys File Version: 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2108) File Description: Redbook Audio Filter Driver Product Name: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Product Version: 5.1.2600.5512 Company Name: Microsoft Corporation Copyright: © Microsoft Corporation. ZoNi Posted June 14, 2010 Author Posted June 14, 2010 But, it seems that all tested movies are burned OK Not really - DVD is readable only on my PC!
ZoNi Posted June 14, 2010 Author Posted June 14, 2010 (edited) Now I watched - Buffer and Device buffer are almost all time full, but speed varies usually around 2-3x, but often fell down to 0x (and remain at 0 for even more than 20 seconds). Edited June 14, 2010 by ZoNi
ZoNi Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 I have cleaned DVDRW unit (with that CD-like cleaner) and now it seems DVD burning is normal. Can someone tell me if it is really OK? Check this picture: And log: http://paste2.org/p/1177307
ianymaty Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 18:28:54 User accepted incorrect file system selection for DivX Video disc warning! This could be a problem on some standalone DVD players. Other than that the disc should be fine.
