LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 There's a thread for that http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 Of course if you'd looked at the 'pinned' posts at the top of the forum or read the bright pink box that's also up there, you'd have seen that.
phillyfreak Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 Update to latest Firmware Do a lens cleaning, try other burning speeds supported, use decent media like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden Hey again. I downloaded the most recent firmware for my device, and I ran the program, but it said "Update Failed" and only gave me the option to "power off" which I did. Now my CD drive wont open, although windows diagnostics say it is functioning. Thanks again.

Cynthia Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Both supported speeds you have tried and they both failed, so your burner doesn't like that media code/brand. Try with some better discs.
ianymaty Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 You have run it As Administrator, did you? Also, did you read the info on the site where it says... Also note that our firmware updates are not compatible with those provided by OEM vendors (Sony Optiarc drives pre-installed by the PC manufacturers e.g. HP, Dell, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Apple etc.). You may damage your drive if you flash it with incompatible firmware If it is in an OEM computer try on their site, maybe they also provide one.
