Ideal burning speed for 360/Wii backups?

I use only verbatim SL/DL. Used to burn Wii at 4x but my new drives only support 6x onwards. Contrary to belief, the slower the better but the discs I use are 16x rated for SL and 8x for DL (Supported media speeds)

 

I thought of 8x for both consoles. Will I encounter DRE's?

If you want to figure out the best speed to burn them at, burn a disc at each supported speed (or a couple even) and then do a PIPO/Disc Quality scan on them with a LiteOn drive and DVDInfoPro/Opti Drive Control.

 

That's the only way to find out for sure.
