Hi,

I've just recently re-installed Windows and are experiencing problems with ImgBurn. I've searched this forum for a couple days with no joy of finding a solution.

During the burning process it will randomly come to a halt (DVD still spins) for reasons unknown to me; the only way to recover is to force the computer to restart (a cancel request just doens't do it). I've left it for an hour after it halts and still no changes. I'm using Verbatim DVD-Rs on a NEC ND-3540A (fw 1.04). UDMA2 is enabled. I've tried resetting DMA, hasn't helped. I've tried all possible burning speeds which the media supports. It halts in both burning and test modes. I've ran out of ideas.

Here's a recent log if it's of any use.

Thanks for the link, but it seems that the drivers I've tried just don't seem to work. I have an old nForce4 mainboard, and it seems because of problems with their PATA drivers nVidia removed them from the latest nForce4 drivers.

I've reverted back to drivers that come with XP which seem to have a successful burn, the DVD works perfect on my DVD player, but when the verifcation process started it seems false data is being read from the DVD. On top of that, the DVD isn't readable through Windows explorer.

Right now I'm wishing I had backed up the drivers I was using before I re-installed Windows, everything was fine then.

That's definitely puzzling.

I think it's about time I got a new writer, specifically a SATA one. Will probably get the Optiarc AD-7240S model.

Try get your drivers from mainboard producer site not from nVidia, there should be a set of tested drivers that work.
