mmalves Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Were you using the D: drive with some other program? If you were then that could be why the buffer was getting low. Since you have a lot of memory you can increase the buffer if you want (it's in Tools -> Settings -> I/O tab). By the way, without Verify you'll never really know if the burn was good or not.
ilitws Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I read this thread & kindly wish to understand this Which settings should be increased and/or modified? 1)Transfer length Automatic - default. Should it be made Manual? Slider 32KB - default. Should it be increased? 2)Buffer Size - default is 20MB.Should it be increased? Enable buffer recovery is TICKED by default 3)Buffer Recovery Thresholds Main 20% - default.Should it be increased? Device 40% - default.Should it be increased? Average Disc Queue Length 1.0 - default.Should it be increased?

OK I made x10 bigger buffer size I don't think I did any thing in D except watching a movie Gona check when I buy some new dvd I got zero right now as to verifi with write speed 2.4( I use it so I'm sure it will burn well) it takes close to 30min to burn +verife it would take close to 1h to finish all. and it always burn good so yeah i don't use verifi Edited May 17, 2010 by Dominator24

The OP's problem is specific to his system and using a bigger buffer could help but isn't mandatory at all, or else ImgBurn would already use a larger buffer, don't you think? With that burner you should also get good burns at 4x, 6x and 8x (those are 8x rated blanks after all) so you're just wasting time by burning at 2.4x

ilitws Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 @mmalves - I am always diligently following your excellent advice & benefit from it & so my ImgBurn 2.5.1 settings are always on default setting only. I only wanted to know in that context which parameter to enhance. Even this doubt of mine you've clarified nicely since his operating system is Win7 Home 64bit whereas mine is WinXp Professional 32 bit - as indicated in the log. As you rightly say one cannot generalize one's understanding. It varies as per operating system & situation. This wonderful software continues to amaze me as it adjusts its settings so intelligently! Thanks for your kind reply
