rheemixed Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 ImgBurn always gets stuck for me (at different completion percentages). It will burn just fine for a few minutes and then Write Rate will --> 0 and it just stops there. I can hear disc spinning, but no light is on for the optical drive. I'm pretty sure all my drivers are up to date (updated them through device manager). I've also tried burning at all supported speeds (2x, 4x, 6x, 8x) I am currently using 4.7GB DVD-R disc from Gigaware. By the way, I am trying to burn Windows 7 onto a dvd on my Vista laptop so I can install it on my first PC build :-) Here's the log. While the burn always stops at different completion times, it always gets stuck here on the log. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I 12:53:57 ImgBurn Version 2.5.1.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 What chipset does your motherboard use? Intel, nvidia etc. Don't rely on drivers from Windows Update being up-to-date, they aren't. Is there a specific reason for not putting Vista SP2 on? Have you tried with other (decent) discs? RITEKF1 aren't exactly great. Try with Verbatim / Taiyo Yuden. There's a 1.54 firmware update for your drive here: http://www.firmwarehq.com/Pioneer/DVRTD08A/files.html
rheemixed Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 (edited) Hey Lightning- Didn't realize I only had SP1, so I DLed SP2 as well as the 1.54 firmware update for my optical drive. Burn was SUCCESSFUL!! Thanks for your help! Now, if only it would stop saying my product key is invalid... Edited May 27, 2010 by rheemixed
