CindyIsHere
I tried to find the answers, but can't. I have a situation like: I am trying to do some small business about refurbished laptops. Naturally, I want to include a number free (and good!) software as preloaded into the laptops before I hand them out to customers. And of course, I think imgburn is good. Can I preinstall it on the laptops for customers? Does anyone get a official link for this? (PS: I will declare imgburn is free in the product document and/or invoice.) Thanks. LIGHTNING UK!
I assume we're not talking about a large number of laptops here? I guess I don't really have any objections to it.
CindyIsHere
Hi LIGHTNING, May I know are you the author of the software? I think we shouldn't focus on the number of laptops, it actually has NOTHING to do how many laptops I plan to preinstall it -- the reason is simple: if it is allowed for this use case, I am pretty sure a lot of other people will find this post and will do this as well. Don't you agree? (just think Open Office, they explicitly permit it as "you may use it for any purpose - domestic, commercial ..."). Maybe you can have a slightly modified version of imgburn, which has your logo on the main UI, or maybe a donate button there as well. This should be pretty straightfward to do. How do you think of it? Hope I can get an answer soon. Thanks.
LIGHTNING UK!
Yes I'm the author, it says so right there on the left Surely it's up to me if the number of machines it's going onto is an issue or not?! If Dell or HP wanted to offer it on their machines then I'd like to think there would be a proper agreement put in place. For average Joe (a category I assume you fall into) selling a few machines for some extra cash, I couldn't give a monkeys. Most people wouldn't even bother to ask.
