I installed ImgBurn v2.5.1.0 on Windows7 Ultimate and tried to burn Memorex DVD+R and DVD+R DL discs but would receive an error while in verify mode. No, I do not have the burn log for you to look at and I can't afford to waste another disc. My Memorex discs are 3+ years old and the burner is a 2 year old Lite-On 20x LH-20A1L. I know you prefer Verbatim discs but please read on.

After losing 3 DVD+R DLs trying to burn the same file, I searched the web and discovered that more than likely the drive was the culprit because ImgBurn v2.5.1.0 can not cause this problem. Instead of replacing the drive, checking cables, upgrading firmware, or changing discs, I decided to uninstall ImgBurn v2.5.1.0 and install ImgBurn 2.3.0.0 and it worked! I used the same 3+ year old discs and the same file for the burn. None of the settings in ImgBurn were changed. It burned and verified without a problem. I used that burned disc and installed the software to the hard drive, ran the program and everything works great.

How can my DVD drive or old discs be bad if this worked? Isn't there a possibility that maybe there's something going on with ImgBurn v2.5.1.0 that causes a burn error?

The burn process relies entirely on the burner/firmware/media combination, and all the software does is feed data in the correct sequence. You've probably reached a disc that wasn't as bad as the others, or the error you were getting could be related to old drivers/filters. Without the log we can only guess.

By the way, previous logs are saved automatically.

Does this tell you anything? The drivers for the DVD and hard drive are up-to-date.

What happens if I remove the Upper and Lower Filters?
