hailstorm Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Hi first post. I just want to thank you for a lightweight and excellent burning app that is Imgburn. I remember my first encounter with CD burning, it was an Iomega CD burner and the bundled Adaptec(pre-Roxio rename) Easy CD Creator. I think it was in the year 2000. Next I assembled a new PC and went through a couple of fantastic 40x Plextor CD writers for many good years. They were expensive, but worth every penny. I also used Nero 5/6. Can't remember a coaster made. Finally in 2008 I got my latest(and current PC) and got a Samsung DVD writer. Unfortunately, I had to get a new drive last year (Asus) as the Samsung one failed to load Windows when I attempted to boot from Windows Vista DVD. I tested the Windows DVD on a friend's notebook and it booted perfectly, so the logical conclusion points to a faulty drive. I hesitated to install the bundled Roxio Media Creator, or download and install newer versions of Nero. I then found Imgburn and it works like a charm. -------------- My suggestion is simple: Let Imgburn have the ability to mount disc images, just like Daemon's Tools or Alcohol. Alternatively, develop a separate sister program called Imgmount. I want something lightweight, fast, support a wide variety of image formats(eg. ISO, NRG, CCD, bin+cue) and with something extra to fool certain copyright schemes just like in Daemon's Tools. Because burning without mounting is just not enough.
ianymaty Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 You can try Virtual Clone Drive from SlySoft for a lightweight image mount. Regarding "certain copyright schemes", you won't get it here.
