Burning Data with ImgBurn - LG Super Multi - Imation DVD+R DL

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I read the faqs and various topics here, and i didn't find a solution to my problem.

I recently bought a 25 DVD+R DL 8.5GB IMATION pack, before that i didn't knew that my LG Super Multi HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS40 with the latest driver, couldn't handle Imation DVD+R DL.

BUT, aside of that, i wish there's is a way to at least burn data, nor movies, just data, mp3,.iso files, avi, etc; on the disc, of course i receive an error when it trying to burn with ImgBurn, or other software's(I killed 2 dvd+r dl, haha), i Have a 6gig .iso file i wish to burn, :|

Please, if someone could help me, or have an idea, let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Post the log from when you've burned with ImgBurn.

ISO images should be burned using the Write mode, not Build mode.

As for making it work, try burning at 4x. If it doesn't work, you could try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc but I'm not sure if this will help much, as the media you're using is known to me low quality (google the bold text above and you'll see what I mean).

Thanks for the advices. I did the 4x speed trick, but doesn't work, I'm assuming(and i wish) i have to use some special configuration? At least for keep trying. I already killed 4 DVD-DL

The device is really good, is kinda new, i burn little things from time to time, i don't think it's about cleaning too. For the record, my device reads and burn CD'S, DVD's at really fast speed, and strangely reads DVD+R DL at the speed of light  (attached image), that's what really bothers me, it's a burner device with compatibility with dual layer discs, it reads so quickly the DL dvd, but when it comes to burn, it doesn't work. All cd's and normal dvd's imation, ritek, princo, etc, burns so good and quick.

About the media or brand itself, its kinda strange too, because as far as i know, all Imation dvd's or cd's are really good, and they work years and years, in fact that's what people recommend, and isn't cheap haha . Maybe the DL discs are the ones that really suc... :whistling: BUT, i did the research you told me, and yes it seems imation brand use bad materials to create the dvds and stuff like that, but as i said before that's really really strange for me, in my experienced with scratched discs, the imation are the most durable  Maybe that's relative.

I have a few more doubts, you think could be the free size on my c: drive that doesn't let me burn? (17GB free)

Don't you have any other idea, that i could try?.

Oh! one more, what i'm gonna do with 20 DL empty discs that i can't use? :w00t:

Thank you for your patience and time,

In the picture you outlined what is recommended for DVD+R DL and you are not usig any of them.

Just give a try with Verbatim, see how it perform.

Hi, yes i know, i just wanted to highlight that, maybe for future people doubts.

$28 bucks wasted, right? :/ Maybe i'll "burn" those DL discs

I'll try to buy some verbatim discs, and see how it goes.

Thanks, guys.
