Can't play DVD on Toshiba SD-4800

[BAW]

I successfully burned a movie on a Fujitsufilm DVD-R. It plays on my compouter using MediaPlayer, but will not play on my Toshiba SD-4800 DVD player. The player grinds for a minute then reports a disc error. I know my player is somewhat out of date (!) , but are there settings I can use to get this to work?
