DVDR burner dead?

i am having trouble using my aopen CD/DVD rewritable drive, model no. duw1616/arr on a winxp sp3. every time i try using imgburn to burn a iso, i keep getting this error:

 

 

any ideas?? is it time to replace my dvd burner?

Your drive is ancient. Try the latest firmware from here

 

A lens cleaning disc could give you a helping hand.
