CanuckWheels Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I burned some jpegs on a Verbatum DVD-R. Neither of my Panasonic machines (S35 and EH-50) can read them. They're both supposed to be able to read a DVD-R disc. I was very careful to follow the guide for burning discs. The log has no errors, including the verify. I'm running Vista 64 bit. I tried 3 times. Is there something special about burning a disc with jpegs? Thanks.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Can your players play discs with jpeg files on them?! Which file systems did you use for the disc? ISO9660 + Joliet is probably the best one for that.
CanuckWheels Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 Yes, they are able to show jpegs. I specified all 3 systems, ISO9660 + Joliet + UDF(?). I created a disc once before with some other software which I can't recall. This leads me to believe that I have a wrong option value somewhere, but there are so many.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Well the best place to start would be in the manual of your player. See how it wants the jpeg files to be written to the disc so it can read them.
CanuckWheels Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 Reading the manual was one of the first things I did and for the record, the machine was turned on. Some more advance-level replies would be appreciated.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 lol so what did it actually say?! You can't expect us to know the format your player wants the disc in, you need to tell us. Like for MP3 playback, my car stereo manual told me exactly which file system the unit needed on the disc. Try another disc with just ISO9660 + Joliet and see what happens. If the disc burns and verifies ok, ImgBurn did its job and the rest is just down to your player. EDIT: I downloaded the S35 manual and it says it supports JPEG on CD-R/RW. It doesn't make any mention of DVD-R/RW etc.
