Stance Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Hi, I am quite new at burning DL discs, but I just have one question. I was wanting to burn a disc, but the thing I'm burning consists of 2 files, a .dvd file and a .iso file. I get that both are used as images, but if both are there and part of the same thing, does it matter which one I pick? The iso is the large file with all the content, the .dvd is only 1kb. Appreciate the clarification
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Assuming you're in Write mode, if you pick the .ISO then the program will tell you off and load the .DVD anyway. The .DVD file tells the program to use the .ISO for the actual data to be burnt to the disc but it also provides additional info about the layerbreak etc.
Stance Posted July 9, 2010 Author Posted July 9, 2010 Oh, now I get it, thanks. Out of curiosity, what would happen if there were no dvd file?
mmalves Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Most likely it won't work in whatever device you're going to play it on.
