Burning Data Blu-Ray

Hi, this is probably a dumb question but I wanted to make sure:

If I use build mode and add non BD-Video Files that are bigger than a DL DVD (for system backup purposes) and then put burn with a blank BD on the drive will it burn it? or will it just give me an error message saying it's too big for a DVD.

I know it sounds incredible noob but since Commercial software like Nero doesn't only burns BD for movies I had my doubts.

You can burn large files on BD media as long as they fit in the disc's capacity.

OK, thanks I wanted to make sure cuz I was considering buying another software and since the BD drive already costed so much didn't want to expend more.
