Pixi Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) Hi, I'm sure this question has been posted a billion times, but this is my first time ever trying to burn a DVD and all the other things I saw just said 'buy a new burner/new DVDs' which I can't afford to do. So I'm hoping by posting this myself, somebody will have a better option for me. I'm completely new to this, so I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot. So, I have an external CD drive (A Pioneer) because the one on my computer doesn't work properly. I've used it with Nero burning software to burn data CDs quite often and it worked fine. But when I tried to use DVD Flick to burn a movie to DVD, I ran into errors (Nero software wouldn't let me use the DVD burn function). Here is a screencap of the actual error I experienced: http://i31.tinypic.com/2zrmaog.jpg This is my second time trying, and I don't want to waste more discs (I have a stack of Dynex DVD+R if that makes a difference) until I know what the problem is. This is my log (I cut out some of the retries because I clicked the button a million times hoping it would magically work--obviously it didn't). I unplugged it after a while and plugged it into a different USB port to see if that would help, and that's when the error changes to 'access is denied'. So. Help? EDIT: I just went ahead and attached the log because of how giant it is. Sorry! I'll repaste it if you want. imgburn_write.txt Edited July 26, 2010 by Pixi
ianymaty Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Update firmware to latest 1.28 http://www.firmwarehq.com/Pioneer/DVR-112/files.html you currently have 1.16 installed. Unfortunately DVD Flick comes with an old version of ImgBurn, you can replace ImgBurn.exe from Program Files\DVD Flick\imgburn\ with the latest version from Program Files\ImgBurn\ or untick "Burn project to disc" in DVD Flick Project Settings and do it in two steps, 1. encoding part with DVD Flick 2. use this Guide to burn the final Video_TS folder to disc.

The second method worked, thank you! I haven't watched it on my TV yet but it burned successfully. Thank you so much!
