Cantello Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Hi all! Yesterday I was burning several DVDs (video with additional content in DVDROM folder if that's of any importance) and all of a sudden my drive did no longer recognise any discs at all. This happened right after I tried to burn a double-layer DVD (all discs from Verbatim, not the very cheap stuff). Is it possible that suddenly the drive went broke? It's a SATA drive, three or four years old. I have uninstalled the SPTD driver that was previously installed, without any changes. Any hints?
mmalves Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Try a lens cleaning disc on that drive, and if that doesn't help then treat yourself to a nice new SATA burner (Optiarc AD-7240S / AD-7241S / AD-7243S recommended).
