Create backup of Windows Server 2008 C: Drive

I am trying to create a bootable ISO image of my newly installed Windows Server 2008 system.

I installed ImgBurn, put C: in the source, defined D:\BackupofC.iso and let it rip. Looks like it is creating the ISO (which I intend to make bootable using MagicISO).

Of course ImgBurn can't copy ALL files because some are "being used" so, here's the question:

  •
  • Do ALL files need to be captured?
  • What can be done about those "in use" files?
  • Is this the best way to do this?

Thanks.

If you want to just back up your Windows installation you should be using a proper backup tool like Acronis TrueImage or similar, as they can make bootable restore discs.

Now if you want to make a Live CD from your Windows then you should ask Google.
