Are you verify your burns? Post a log http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=14632

Do the names of the files are long or contain some special characters that the player not support? Try rename them Movie1, Movie2...

AVI is a container that can store a lot of codecs that your player might can't decompress. Open the files in GSpot and compare them.

It was a good burn+verify so the problem must be with the files themselves.

Insert that disc on your DVD player and take note of the filenames that show up and play, then put the disc in your computer and use MediaInfo to open the working and non-working files and compare their attributes to find out what's the problem.

GSpot is a little program that can:

● Establishes what codecs (audio and video) are required to play an media file.

● Determines whether these codecs are installed on your system.

● Isolates problems associated with these codecs.

● Isolates problems associated with media files

● Shows framerate, duration, aspect ratio, bitrates, "hidden" info, and more.

If you had clicked on it (notice it's a link?) it will redirect you to official site http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

mmalves has given you another program for the same thing. Just choose one and examine the differences between the files that work and that not work on player.
