Adam S Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 (edited) I am using the newest ImgBurn on an XP Pro machine. I am writing a CD that has 3 files on the root of the cd (and an autorun file) and then a folder that has files inside of it. Once burned, CD works fine on Windows XP machine. When I give it to the co-worker that needs it (who has Win 7 Pro) she puts it in her PC it comes up with no autorun option because the CD does not have the file on it. (Total disc size is correct though. The icon file is also missing because it is in the folder which it doesn't see.If I double click the CD drive in Computer it gives an error too. Does windows 7 have a problem with the way that ImgBurn creates a CD? I tried the Windows XP machines built in Windows Burning and then played it on the Windows 7 PC and it worked fine, the autorun played and all files and folders showed. I also removed the Windows 7 cd drive and plugged it into a different XP machine and it worked fine. I tried the CDs burned with ImgBurn on another Windows 7 machine and the same problem was shown. Please help. I can post more pics if neccesary, options etc. Thanks! Edit: noticed that windows cd burning makes the file system CDFS and imgburn made it UDF, that has to be what the difference is Edited August 19, 2010 by Adam S
ianymaty Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 (edited) Try change File System to ISO9660 + Joliet instead of ISO9660 + UDF Edited August 23, 2010 by ianymaty
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 You should try using ImgBurn in 'Read' mode or IsoBuster to see if the Windows 7 machine/drive can read the disc. Don't rely on Windows/Explorer itself.
Adam S Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 (edited) First of all, thank you for the reply. I changed to ISO 9660 + Joliet from ISO 9660 + UDF. Now I am getting a warning which I cannot understand as it doesn't seem to be changing anything. Log: I 13:27:14 Operation Started! I 13:27:14 Building Image Tree... LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Go back to using UDF. There's no reason Windows 7 shouldn't be able to read it.
