DVD-ROM but I don't want it

I am not very computer literate and appear to be having problems. I have downloaded my camcorder footage to PC and wish to burn a DVD-R copy to play in my Panasonic DVD HDD recorder. This machine will not accept DVD-ROM.

 

I am using a blank DVD-R with Imgburn but somehow it seems to be converted into a DVD-ROM in the burning process. I must be missing something simple. Please help.

Thanks for the replies so far.

When I insert the burnt disc in my player it simply says no files found. I began to think, maybe the disc isn't finalised. I went through the player menu and it seems to say "disc not finalised". However, if I try to finalise on the player it says cannot finalise no files on disc.

 

Going back to my computer. The disc plays on my PC, albeit rather jerkily, I don't think my speed is quite up to it.

 

I am beginning to think I have recorded the wrong data to disc. My camera is a SANYO which records a file string DCIM - 100SANYO - then individual MPEG4 files. I downloaded from camera to PC and then copied the individual MPEG4 files to the disc. Have I stripped away data from the file string? As I said at the beginning I am not very computer literate so what I have just written is probably a load of balls as well.

The player will play the recordings directly from the camera when it is plugged in. Unless they are changed by my PC when they are downloaded that indicates my player will accept MPEG4.

 

I burned a disc of VIDEO_TS using imgburn the other day and it plays that.

Just to let you know my player will only support MPEG2. The camera must be downgrading from MPEG4 to MPEG2 when it feeds the player, fooling me into thinking the player was accepting MPEG4.

 

Ah well, problem solved all I need now is yet another DVD player!

Or use a program like DVD Flick to make a standard DVD Video (VIDEO_TS)
