The problem is that my drive doesnt seem to detect the disks. Here is the Log: I 11:47:17 ImgBurn Version 2.5.1.0 started! I 11:47:17 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 11:47:17 Total Physical Memory: 785,904 KB - Available: 405,868 KB W 11:47:17 Drive J:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. I 11:47:17 Initialising SPTI... I 11:47:17 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... At the bottom of imgburn i also get the message: Device Not Ready (Unknown (ASC: 0x92, ASCQ: 0x05)) So i tried updating my driver on the ricoh website and when i open r flash in attempt to update the driver i am asked to select the drive to update from a drop down list but the drive doesnt appear :s, so it will not let me update the driver at all. Any suggestions at all will be much appriciated.
ianymaty Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Taken from Ricoh site http://www.ricoh.com/drive/asia/dvd/mp5240a/ Supported media for writing DVD+RW, DVD+R, CD-R, CD-RW, High-Speed CD-RW Your drive is pretty old and don't support burning Dual Layer discs. It's time to buy yourself a new drive if you want to burn those discs. On the other note... Did you followed carefuly the instructions on update procedure? http://www.ricoh.com/drive/asia/support/download/how_win.html If you not have a valid reason to stuck to Service Pack 2 on Windows you should update it to Service Pack 3 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389
