Tschurin Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 * “I have been a satisfied user of imgburn 2.4.2 on my previous Windows XP computer, using it once every couple of months to back-up thousands of mostly Word, Excel, JPG and PDF files onto DVD’s. Now that I have a new desktop PC, a Dell Optiplex 380 also running Windows XP, I am tempted to download and use 2.4.2 since it worked well enough for my simple needs. One difference between my old and new PC is the DVD drive, which device manager tells me is now a “HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GH50N.” My question is this: For my limited needs, will 2.4.2 continue to do the job? Which is the most recent version that has all of the bugs worked out of it? If I were to download that more current version will I have to learn new procedures for writing to disk? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this, Geoff
spinningwheel Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Geoff; 1...As there is no support offered here for prior versions of the program, I would strongly suggest that you load and use the newest version of ImgBurn. 2...There is no other procedure to learn, after you have an understanding of the basic functions, which you appear to be, you're good to go. spinner
