Burning DL DISC and it hangs in the end.

Hiya all,

I have looked around regarding the DL burning. Here's my issue, so far I'm able to burn completely however at the end it would say "W 13:23:49 Waiting for device to become ready..." and hang forever and if I cancel it. It'll become a coaster.

I'm using Win XP, Verbatim DVD +R DL, and my burner is HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-H73N C109

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, it's just waiting before the Verify operation starts. Have you tried ejecting and reinserting the disc? Maybe the drive will eventually notice there's a disc in it.

Cancelling at that point doesn't make your disc a coaster, it's already been burnt!

If all your discs are causing that to happen then the drive is probably broken (or needs a serious clean).

It's writing the discs without displaying any sort of error but it can't then reinitialise the disc after the program has ejected and reinserted it.

I'm able to burn CD and DVDs just not DL DVDs.. However, it hangs.

I have checked the few other DL Disc burned.. none works and show its used. However, the last burn above, works after putting the Disc in two/three more times. Strange and stranger LOL

Thank you for your help I will do what you advise, ejecting and inserting.
