retsam Posted September 11, 2010 Share Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) Hello, I just bought a new burner, a LG GH22NS50 that supports 22x burning speed. For my first burn I tried 22x. I set the burning speed to 22x. Media is EMTEC DVD-R 16x CMC MAG AM3 16. At the end of the disc (that was full) the burning speed was 15.8x Do I have to change a setting in imgburn (on my old Philips it was an advanced setting called overspeed) to allow speed faster than allowed by the media? LG should have a list of which discs your drive can burn at 22x on. Failing that, look at the CDFreaks forum / in the MCSE (MediaCodeSpeedEdit) tool. Is there a way to know the maximum writing speed for a given DVD-/+R on my burner WITHOUT burning it and checking the log file?
