cannot burn to dvd-r

I use Imgburn regularly with no probs but just tried to burn to a dvd-r TDK life on record and get a cannot write incompatible format Is there apart from using my own Verbatims anything I can do

Your drive don't like the disc.

Thanks lightning I'll try the update fortunately the discs are not mine I only use Verbatim
