dvd to hard drive

I want to burn a dvd to the hardrive...simple enough if you then want to burn it to a dvd,

but how do I burn it to the hard drive as a finished dvd. or a flash drive?

Do you need a special player for playback on the computer if so is there a Free player I can download.

I'm running windows 7 and only have media player.

For playback you'll need to mount the ISO (image file) in something like 'Virtual Clone Drive'.

 

Then play back from the virtual drive using something like 'Media Player Classic - Home Cinema'.

 

Some players (VLC etc) will play directly from the ISO itself. I prefer the method mentioned above.
