Hiker Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Although I had a few successes after I disabled the driver, this may or not be related to the problem I had when I had Daemon Tools Lire installed. I've since uninstalled DT and although I tried removing the driver, it appears the Duplex Secure tool only disables it. In order to view iso's I installed DVD Fab VirtualDrive. Anyway, on to the problem I've been having for quite some time. ImgBurn hangs up at 10%. Using Verbatim DVD-R 16x I 02:28:44 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Why are you posting about such an old version of ImgBurn? Your drive is probably getting on a bit now, give it a clean with a cleaning disc. If that doesn't work, try some discs from a different spindle. If that doesn't work, buy a new drive.
Hiker Posted October 1, 2010 Author Posted October 1, 2010 Actually I've been having the same problem with the latest version, for this example, thinking it may make a difference, I used ImgBurn portable. I'll try a good cleaning. Lighening UK thanks for your help and and all the software you've developed over the years.
Hiker Posted October 6, 2010 Author Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) I tried cleaning (with camera lens cleaner) and that soon killed the player/burner completely as it wouldn't even read. Found a refurbished player/burner for my laptop and all is back to normal. Edited October 6, 2010 by Hiker
Rincewind Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) Something caught my eye: Disc ID: MCC 03RG20 Regardless if it is + or -, I thought Verbatim disc IDs were always MKMxxx. What is up with that disc id though? Looks suspect to me, unless someone can actually confirm these are Verbatims and not some third party discs with the Verbatim name slapped on. Or am I only thinking of Verbatim DLs? Edited October 7, 2010 by Rincewind
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 'MCC 03RG20' is fine, it's the Verbatim 16x DVD-R MID.
