mmalves Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc. If that doesn't help then you should get a new burner.
ianymaty Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Try with a lower speed instead of leaving it to default MAX.

Lengher Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 Hi again!! I saw another users posting about this problem, and he had a Sata burner. Im using a Pata. Last night I was puting in another, brand new burner of the brand Samsung, and reinstalled the entire system, from the bottom with a formating of C, but the problem is STILL there!! Im getting pretty anoyed now.. :@ W 14:37:52 Failed to Write Sectors 544 - 575 - Reason: Logical Unit Communication CRC Error (ULTRA-DMA/32) And YES, I HAVE tried with another cabel, or two acctually. And YES, the Samsung writer is brand new. And YES, the firmware is also up to date. What have I missed? Regards Lengher
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 That's a totally different error. Now you have DMA issues. Is your new drive PATA too?
Lengher Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 Ive got a new Samsung PATA burner, with the latest firmware, but still cant burn right. Try to post log: ImgBurn.log
ianymaty Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 You have SB02, SB03 is the latest, get it from here http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S222L/files.html What about normal discs not RW? It gives errors too? Try a new 80 pins data cable. Try updating chipset/storage drivers.

Yes, I know that I had sb02 when I tried last time, but after I changed the cable, I could get sb03. As I write this, Im getting the latest driver for all chipset, and have a new 80 pins cable on the table, putting it in next time Im rebooting.. Will reply again when its done, if nothing else, to tell you how it went..
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Is it the only drive on the cable? If so, make sure the jumpers on the back of the drive are configured for 'Master'. Connect it up so the drive is on one end of the cable and the motherboard at the other (leaving the middle connector free). The shorter the cable, the better.
