piggypower42 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 hey everyone, I have been using ImgBurn for about a year now with no problems. I ran out my Verbatim DL DvDs today so I went to purchase a new pack. I just burned something this morning using the old dvd's which ran out. Now when I put the new DVD's in my computer the driver does not read the dvd's. I went to try the discs on another computer and it worked fine reading them. I tried updating/uninstalling the driver and no luck. Can you guys help please? Thanks Shant
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Post the log - or just whatever you see in the log window when the program starts. Once you've picked 'Write' mode or whatever and put the disc in the drive, what message do you end up seeing in the statusbar at the bottom of the main window?

piggypower42 Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 I mean the burner will read all my other previous dvds just not the new ones. Is there like a patch or some other update that I should be doing?
mmalves Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 If the drive can't initiliase/recognise blank media then there's nothing the software can do about it.
piggypower42 Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 thanks for the help mmalves. I guess the burner will not recognize new blank media for dvds maybe? Kind of weird that it reads used dvds with media on it and it wont read blank media dvds. Is that possible?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Try cleaning it with a cleaning disc... failing that get a new one as mmalves suggested. Nobody knows why drives fail like they do.
