Writing a DVD+R DL disk (TDK) all went well but the disk failed to be finalised. It will play on my computer but not thru a regular (region free) DVD player. Is there some way I can get ImgBurn to finalise the disk -- I hoped verifying it might do the trick, but all was verified and declared ok, without a successful finalisation. Can anyone suggest a solution?

If the drive couldn't finalise it the first 4 or so times ImgBurn tried, it's probably not going to work now.

Verifying doesn't magically fix anything.

Post the log of the failed burn and we'll take a look.

Additional comment: For no reason I can figure the disk created will not play on all computers and, as reported in my earlier post, will not play on my regular (Pioneer) DVD player. However, it does play on a JVC "DVD Video Recorder & Video Cassette Recorder". The only reason I can imagine is that the latter will play non-finalised disks recorded on it (but it won't finalise this one, I tried).

The Blu-ray burner came with a Dell PC and the fault could well lie with the software there. I'll check it out when I have time (probably not before tomorrow). I thought I had the latest updates, but it is possible I don't. The software appears to be Cyberlink PowerDVD (Bluray).

Update software installed and burn apparently successful. However, the burnt disk will not play in my regular DVD player, tho it will paly in another machine that is a DVD recorder. The only new thought I have is that I am using DVD+R but I can't see why that shoudl be a problem.

Do you have a log of you burning and verifying the disc?

It is DVD Video content that you're burning yeah?

I assume it's not an NTSC / PAL issue?

Does the player the disc doesn't work in give you any sort of error message?
