Nicholas 1 Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Can Image Burn burn most files & do a make a multi session media? Is it comparable to the bloated Nero? Do I need Ashampoo Burning suite with it? What other utilities do you recommend along with it........like Flick to DVD etc?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 ImgBurn can read and write multisession discs/images, it just can't 'Build' them. It's purely a burning program, Nero is an entire suite of apps. (ImgBurn is like Nero Burning ROM I guess) No you don't need Ashampoo to use ImgBurn (why would you?!). That depends on what you will be doing. Sure, if you want to convert AVI files etc to DVD Video format you'll need something like DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD. ImgBurn just does the burning part (not conversion).
Nicholas 1 Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 ImgBurn can read and write multisession discs/images, it just can't 'Build' them. What exactly do you mean by can't "Build" but can write multi session? I apologize about my ignorance. Thanks.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 It means you can read an existing multisession disc to an image using 'Read' mode and you can write an existing multisession image to a disc using 'Write' mode. You just can't create a new one in 'Build' mode. So basically, you can't keep adding files to a disc.
Nicholas 1 Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the detailed clarification. Lastly could you care to give me one good reason what edge does Image Burn have over Ashampoo version 9xx, a freeware too? Edited October 19, 2010 by Nicholas 1
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 That's not for me to say. ImgBurn isn't newbie software, it's for people that want control and want to know what's happening.
