Hello everyone,

I usually burn dual layer .ISO files and sometimes i get Power Calibration Area Error or 'WaitImmediateIO' Deferred Error - (99%, 0/3), below is a log of a sucessful burn BUT once it reachs the final stages of the burn it takes a couple of tries before it can complete it. the firmware of the drive is update to and i ONLY use VERBATIM DVD+DL, maybe i need a new drive im thinking...?

Do you have the same issue with SL discs?

Perhaps cleaning the drive might be in order.

I don't know whether or not enabling OPC would make any difference, (LUK could answer that for you), though I personally always turn it on.

Your version of ImgBurn is out of date.

You realise 1x isn't an option with your drive/firmware/media combo yeah?

1x will just make your drive use 4x.

You could try the other supported speeds - 6x and 8x.

Can you try a disc from a different spindle?

Hi,

Im very noobish at this stuff. I assume SL is Single Layer discs, if so yes they burn fine, no issues. i have no idea what OPC and where to enable it nor what it does, after some forum search alot of word about booktype, not sure if that does anything????????

@ LIGHTNING UK! - will get on those, and let know how it goes.

Thanks everyone for the quick reply.

UPDATE: just tried again and it failed!!!...while i was waiting for an reply.

Checking for an update to your drive's firmware is a good idea. Go to Tools -> Drive -> and click on Check For Firmware Updates...

When you say "latest chipset" you are talking about motherboard drivers correct? or the latest firmware for the drive?..

Yes, i tried 6x its hit or miss situation, i just think my drive has had it, when i first got it was fine for about 8months, only recently starting acting up...

Yes I'm talking about motherboard chipset. Take a look on manufacturer site or if you know what chipset is on your motherboard search for the latest for your OS.

This site may come handy http://www.ma-config.com/

Yes all my drivers are up to date!..I just think my drive has had its time, i dont want to waste anymore discs!.
