I am using Verbatim DVD+R DL 8x discs and I'm assuming that I have a lousy drive (Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-862) because I saw elsewhere on the forum that the slimline's are "rubbish". Before I spend on a new drive I'm asking you to take look at my log in case it's something easier/less expensive like updating firmware or writing at a different speed. I'll also try cleaning the drive before investing in a new one. I'm brand new to this process and appreciate the product, the guides and the support. Thank you. But then when I put the disc in my home DVD player I get a disc loading error and it won't play. Here's the log from that one. Thanks for any suggestions. ianymaty Posted October 31, 2010 Share Posted October 31, 2010 I 22:46:58 Source Media Type: DVD+R DL (Book Type: DVD+R DL) (Disc ID: MKM-003-00) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x) Maybe you can find 2.4x rated media MKM-001-00 since MKM-003-00 is 8x rated media and your drive only shows 2.4x, 4x as supported speeds.
