Here's a procedure I discovered today after hours of frustration and forum searches and I proudly but humbly submit it as an entry to the ImgBurn FAQ:

Q: Why on my new Windows 7 installation am I able to burn and verify successfully a CD with ImgBurn but the burned CD appears empty in my file manager? I swear my files are on the CD (I checked on another computer), I have no other burning software installed and all the help I found in various forums did not work for me.

A: Your registry settings regarding built-in disk burning may be damaged. Try disabling and then re-enabling the native windows burn capabilities. This can be done easily according to this sevenforums article (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5942-burning-cd-dvd-enable-disable.html). After logging off and on (or rebooting) there are high chances the issue is fixed.

Since I do not intend to test the above procedure for DVDs, you're welcome to experiment and report back if you have the same problem with your DVDs.
