semtex Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 So I've tried to make a backup for a Xbox 360 game now but without success. Using Windows 7. The driver is a ATAPI iHAS124 B. It's about two months old. It also claims that I have the latest drivers installed. Using Verbatim DVD+DL, and I was unable to burn at 2,4x so I burned at 4x speed (4,6,8 was available). Using the latest version of ImgBurn (2.5.2.0). Used an user specified layer break; 1913760. Burn is successful but verify is not. Here's the log: I 16:16:54 ImgBurn Version 2.5.2.0 started! ianymaty Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Try the other speeds, it's 8x rated media after all.
semtex Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 All right, nothing else? Note that I haven't tried burning anything but CDs on this driver before, could it be that it can't handle the 8x Verbatims?
ianymaty Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 If it can't burn the best media on market (aka Verbatim) send it back for replacement.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Update the firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/iHAS124%2BB/files.html
semtex Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 I tried making a new image and it still failed the verify process in ImgBurn. I will update the firmware as you suggested. However, I tried to burn the same image using another software that also did fail in a previous attempt, but with the new image it now worked. I'm not sure why or how, but I got my backup now. I guess you could mark this thread as solved now! Thanks for you help.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 What you're burning makes no difference, the drive doesn't know or care about it... it's all just data. If your burns are hit and miss, the firmware is your best chance of a real fix.
